Rear damper R&R question 1990

I've got the rear dampers out for dis-assembly, lube, and re-assembly so the ride height can be set without the adjuster binding. The WSM says to renew the three lock nuts near the top perch (inside the car) and the lock nut on the damper rod (holds the whole thing together, including the coil spring).
So, are these really one-time use nuts, or can they be re-used? If replacement is warranted, should one of the Big 3 or 4 be able to supply?
Thanks,
M

you will be OK to use the same hardware never seen any of these fail ,
the replacement is due to the self locking nuts,
a dab of blue loctite will work

I have never replaced them with new - just reused the old ones.
Do not know if I am one of the big three or not but I have the nuts for $3.88 each 8>) No pun intended.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

I would add that if you were asking about replacing the connecting rod nuts then yes they should be replaced.
For the shocks its not necessary though,
I would prefer to have a new self locker for the piston shaft nut if it has been removed

Stan - Thanks for the insight. I'll probably lock-tite the nuts inside the car and replace the one on the damper piston rod, assuming I need to remove the coil-over retainer to do the clean/lube.
Roger - I need to call you tomorrow anyway as I'm doing the brakes at the same time, hope you have all that stuff too
