I was wondering someone could suggest a decent machine shop in the NYC area that can clean up my cylinder heads and flywheel if its required. I don't mind doing some driving if it ensures the job gets done properly, so I'll include lower NY State (including Long Island), most of NJ, and eastern CT. I'll also ship them somewhere if its what has to be done.
I have a couple of leads for places in central NJ from the mechanic that I use for some maintenance of my SUV, but none of these are a sure bet. I would be much happier using someone that an RLer has had a good experience with / can recommend.
Thanks!

I highly recommend Verden Tool and Mfg in Dover, NJ (Bob and Barry). These guys do a ton of Porsche machine work (mostly 911 stuff, but I'm sure they will treat 928 parts with equal care and attention to detail). They did all machine work for my DIY 930 engine build and everything was perfect.
Me and Bob by the Bridgeport

My heads...machined for twin plug ignition and ports enlarged.

In addition, just as an update to my original post, I contacted one of the firms recommended to me - Eddies Valve Grinding. Person I spoke with told me they had just finished up a 944 head. Cost for a 928 set would be $150 for the pair to resurface using a CBN cutter, or $575 + parts for the pair for a rebuild.

jwasbury, thanks for the lead on Veren. Seem like a good bunch of guys, but unfortunately they said they send their "larger" non 911 stuff over to a shop called P&W in Whippany. When I spoke with P&W, they said they could either machine the heads on a planer / grinder, or run them through an ultrasonic to clean things up for $85 / head.
Anyone gone the ultrasonic route on 928 heads with similar success to milling?
Thanks,
Dave
