Default Shark woofer install with quick disconnects

After I looked at some other installations I decided I wanted to be able to just lift it out and away from the car in case I wanted to work in the battery area so I installed an aluminum angle with Female RCA connectors and a 9 way connector for the speaker wires and P.con connector. The aux. cooling fan is piggy backed on to the P.con wire. There will be a few more refinements in the future but I'm pleased with the way it came out.

[Guinness]Brilliant![/Guinness]

Good thought on pulling cooling fan power off the amp power control wire!

What did you do for amp power and ground? I don't see a (dis-)connector for those.

So the aluminum channel is inboard of the rubber standoffs for the amp mounting- is it right up against the frame of the cooling fan? I just wonder whether you have any interference with the straight RCA terminals on your line inputs against the big factory wiring harness in the well. Obviously it probably fits fine on your car, mine is a really tight fit along that edge.

Default some more details as requested

The blue Amp positive comes up from the bat box I drilled the hole and put in the grommet and wire. I used double sided tape to mount the positive fuse holder behind the cover. I connected the Amp ground to the existing ground terminal together with the ground for the Aux. cooling fan and placed foam on the bottom (grey) to set the SW on and foam (white) the protected the factory ground strap from shaving.

The loop to the left (blue ) can be made shorter so it stays behind the cover

Nice job Herman! What is the foam stuff you have in the last pic?

Consider making one of those blocks along with shortened RCA's up for others?

Default Your questions...

Rob the aluminum channel is inboard of the rubber standoffs it is a tight fit and I have to angle the SW side with the Amp down to get the wires to go under the big factory wiring harness (had to slightly bend up the two factory original 90 degree angles in order to do so)

Yep, so did I. I suppose I could just have dremeled the slots in the deck deeper to fit under those two Z-brackets, but happened to have a pair of pliers there when fitting, so I just bent 'em.

Great thinking Herman. I received mine last week and it's a work of art!

I think I'll do something similar...thanks for sharing.
