Starter Motor now works every time...
Just got new brushes in the starter motor: no longer have to chance lying down next to the car hammering to free the solenoid outside favourite cafe, etc, much to everyone's amusement...

Hehe, I used to do that when I had my first car, an old beater. My shade tree mechanic showed me ho to do it. For a shade tree mechanic he was a wise man 
Once I couldn't get the car started. He came over and said; see that bar over there? - go over and get me soft drink please. I was a bit stumped but I figured he was thirsty and since he came over to help, might as well get him a drink. So I brought him a Coke. He took the Coke and the poured some over the battery terminals and clamps. Car started right up. One gets inventive when out of professional stuff.
