For the 8th year in a row, our pilgrimage to SITM will leave June 2 thursday from rte 90 in MA and do all of Skyline drive about 5 pm thursday, stop overnight at Waynesboro and continue from mile marker 1 of BRP at 8 am friday to cruise on down to the Hotel at SITM that evening. We stop on the BRP for lunch around noon.
Bring a 2 way radio for communication, and a reliable shark. Bring your own spares: oil, coolant, brake fluid (if deemed necessary), some tools, fuses, relays, and fuse/relay chart. The most common items are broken rubber exhaust hangers and drooping belly pans. Check your car. It can be 30 miles to get help from the parkway, and be gassed up. You will need a full tank.
The hotel at Waynesboro:
Comfort Inn, 15 Windigrove drive, Waynesboro VA 22980
(540)932-3060
split a room to save $$$.
Our route is rte 90 in MA to 84 through CT then catch 81 south in Scranton PA, then down to Front Royal to catch Skyline Drive to the hotel thursday pm in Waynesboro VA; and continue on Blue Ridge Parkway friday 8am to SITM.
People either meet us on the way down from Boston, at the start of Skyline Drive, at the Waynesboro Hotel thursday night, or at mile marker 1 of BRP friday morning 8 am.
It's a good time, and by the time you get to SITM you have already had a great time. If the weather cooperates, it's the best time you will have in your 928 all year.

Carl - just mentioned your Boston to SITM caravan thread to my wife, expressing my dissapointment that I am not going. She said "oh, I thought you WERE going". Maybe I should cash in on that while I can. But, I just can't take the time off from work right now...

This will be my 8th and maybe last, it is real hard to keep the 928 life going at my house... Times change, life keeps getting more expensive.

While I'm not from Boston... I was planning to leave Thursday from New York and stop overnight around midway. Looks like Waynesboro is close to that point, so I might join you guys.
Cheers!

You comin'? ![cherrsagai](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/drink.gif)
I actually did and cruise with the crew! Barely kept down my cookies for 150 miles though!!
At lunchtime, I skipped eating and laid out the the lawn... that really helped out. The air was so fresh up there in the mountains.

I just let DR and Jeannie know that yet again, no SITM for me this year (but I know somebody got my BW room!), but also yet again, I will meet you guys Thursday night in W'boro. And for anyone thinking about this who hasn't done it, Ispeed(and he ain't lyin'!)'s post "It's a good time, and by the time you get to SITM you have already had a great time. If the weather cooperates, it's the best time you will have in your 928 all year" is 100% literally true. Not even emphatic enough (and that pic has been my desktop background for quite a while). Waynesboro, the Parkway, SITM - you just cannot do better!
Carl- great to hear you'll be back again!
