Default Dwayne blew in!

Well, One of Rennlists best 928 experts visited me today. I dont know if he was going home or was blown in. We have to have gusts of 70 mph today. So we spent 3-4 hours going over my newest addition to my Porsche family.

Let me tell you guys Dwayne knows what he is doing. He took a flashlight, put on his scholarly glasses and started his clinic. I learned more in that time, than
I have in 25 years of reading Porsche magazines. He went over every aspect of the car from fuel systems to coolant systems to brake systems and then to prioritizing maintenance issues. From the front of the car to the rear. We took a short break to go rip off some miles in the PDK then back to the clinic of looking at and driving the 928. I was happy to learn the 928 is engineered to be pretty simple to work on. I was happy about that. I had heard so much about being a technical monster. Not so.
If you ever have the chance to meet him what a Porsche Pleasure and as nice as you would expect from 911 and 928 and any other Porsche People. Truly cut from different fabric in technical skill and social grace. I am really lucky to have Dr. Dwayne in town (PhD in 928s)

It was RIDICULOUS!!! I dont know if this was fate but the wind blew my 2008GT3 RS poster down off my wall! BTW its STILL ridiculous! its still hitting 40-50 gusts.
This happens every year. As soon as I do my airconditioner for the the up coming summer, it drops 40 degrees for the next 2 months.

Ya..I had to find a window where the clouds left the valleys clear enough to fly OUT of, before the winds got up...and before the SF Bay area became difficult to get into.

Was a bumpity ride.

Sure felt like it..if it wasnt for the turbulence flyin VFR below a 4000' layer, there were some huge long thermals in the valley from PRB north to almost Salinas where they ended..was worth about 25kt of groundspeed, against 15kt headwinds..so for a short time it almost washed out.

The rest of our group, only now just is arriving home, considering we all left at 11a.

Jeff I rode that race. The year I was in the best shape, they cancelled it. Something to do with the CHP coverage. I prerode it maybe 6 times.

I worked at China Lake for 25 years. DOD for 30
