The last 3 911s I have had, have each cost more than my first home(87k).
But because of the cars I picked little or no depreciation I am still using the
first hunk of money on my 911.
I sold the first 911 for 2k more than I paid for it(993TT).
The first GT3(996) I had I lost $1,000 after a year and a half.
The second GT3 (997.1) I lost $6K after a year and a half.
This one I dont know, the sticker was 103K I negotiated to 90K,
then Porsche wrote me a check for 10k MORE, so it was 80K plus taxes like $87 out the door.
So we will see. I am guessing that since its a plain jane C2S PDK and the current economy that
this one will depriciate more, but right now its so good I have NO intention of selling it.
After 3 outstanding 911s this one is the best. But I guess Porsche is making as many C2S PDKs
as it can.
BUT I am guessing I am not going to lose any money on the Weissach.

GREAT find!!!
I used the powerpoint in the other sticker thread to make my own - but I put down all the bits and updates I did. Garners some great attention at shows and meets, and it was a ton of fun.
later in life someone is probably going to bitch me out for not saving receipts, but I have kept an excel sheet record...

Well As a buyer of a 928 I would trust your Excel Spread sheet as good as 22 years of messy receipts.
Your record would be easier to read.

Interesting thread. Top of the line Porsches still equal a nice house in most of the US.
Hmmm .... value over time.... I'm watching a C-Span of descendants of Underground Railroad escapees and they mentioned a ferryman paid $12 for his services in 1842 (gold was ~ $20/oz). A small fraction of the value of the fleeing property, but somebody had to put that money up. Charon might have been cheaper, but I propose a toast to crime. Here's an assortment of inflation calculators:

Barry,
You know when we grew up the American dream was to have your own home. I worked hard and bought my dream house here and a condo in the mountains. The ultimate dream, your home and vacation home.
But you know what? Real estate aint what it used to be. The gains(OR LOSSES) over the last decade have been minimal. MINIMAL!!! Why bother? Its not going to get better either so why bother?
Get your dream car and be done with it. Then buy gold or something. Because what EVERY the American
dream is, it aint real estate no more. And I dont know what the answer is and if I did I would have the info mercial about how to do it.
