I just want to say I was real close to being in your position, but with help from my friend and a free parts car, my 3k dollar 928 with about 300 dollars out of my pocket for misc. stuff and 150 hours of work x2 people, my 928 is now worth about 3k, maybe. After spending many hours every day for 5 months pouring through threads on this site, I should be able to make a better decision regarding 928's next time. I now know that for 6k and waiting, a fairly nice OB can be had like the recent one in San Francisco that was for sale by a rennlister. I am sorry I don't have any words of wisdom for you since I am and will be a Newbie for a few more years. Was it worth it? Yes, I love my 928 and would have a very hard time selling her unless I knew I was going to buy another.

BigCavolo......I want to remain positive and try to help you. I would agree with every statement prior and you are in a "pickle!"

I would say, sell every part you can. Sell Tranny sell seats on CL, sell, sell sell. Sell both cars for what ever you can.

Then take a deep breath. Then stop buying 928 Porsches for 6 months, while saving your money. Count it as an expensive lesson...

Then try it again. Buy a nice car. Pay fair money. No projects! and then enjoy.

In the scheme of life it is only money. A precious commodity to many and necessary for most to sustain life. When it comes to cars, it is generally a waste. Some cars more than others. But the cars can bring lots of joy, lots of smiles, lots of friends and lots of lessons about life.

You have had yours, now share it with others. Best of luck to you and GOD Bless. -Rob

I appreciate the advise on this. Thanks, for being candid. I was very ignorant to the car. Told you the 82 was bad. It was a late night ebay purchase. I regretted it right after putting in a bid. I guess the next shameful question is:

Are there any takers for the bigger items?

Wait a minute...... do you have a clear picture of the door mirrors? They might be an alternative to the flag mirrors

Here, start over. It's even yellow.

http://sarasota.craigslist.org/cto/2366446174.html

It's been for sale for quite awhile, offer him 1000 and use the other yellow one for parts.

Thanks again for your honesty. I feel very regretful, don't know what I was thinking. I have decided to part out both cars. Unless, someone wants either for 2,900 each. Let me know if you want anything.

Bryan if you have to pay the shop to take apart your cars, box and ship the parts that will consume much if not all of what you MIGHT get for the parts. The shop is probably not going to want to tie up a lift for very long or store bits and pieces until they sell. The parts do NOT just fall off the car it takes timeand a place to work or money to get them off.

I can take cars apart quite well. I have done it 6 times. It is out of the shop anyway. The yellow one is driving and shifting very well. That's all it does well. Any takers here before I list parts on Ebay?

The quarters are brown and decent. Right bottom has a small tear.

Good to see you can keep a sense of humour about the whole thing.
