Default '79 Sudden stall/strange speedometer reading when starting up.

Hi Guys, ik hope somebody can give me some advice: i got a problem since last week with my engine stalling suddenly (just out instantly dead) and bad starting when warm. It's a '79 euro. I am not sure if the bad starting is related to the sudden stalling to be honest.

I noticed something that may not be related but may lead to pinning down my problem. My speedometer keeps pointing 20/30 km sometimes when it stalls. It won't start then. I first have to take the ignition key out and put it in again and before it starts...Any idea's? My plan is:
1. Check the grounds.
2. replace bad fuel relay.
3. replace fuel filter.
4. Check fuel pump.
Also see my video on youtube for the strange speedo reading: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvZot4f_kWI

Thanks in advance!

thats a strange one,i would suggest you have a spark plug ready to plug into no 1 or no 4 plug lead next time it doesn't start up,and find out if it is FUEL or SPARK that you are lacking when it doesn't start.and go from there....mark

I'm leaning toward a lose or bad ignition switch on the back side of were the key goes in. These can cause all sorts of wierd things to happen.

Default bad fuel relay

Thanks for the help, it was a bad fuel relay. Put in a new one and everything is alright again!
