Default torque tube thoughts

I was thinking about the torque tube set up lately and thought to my self what if the propeller shaft was hollow like a standard drive shaft, a hollow large diameter shaft that ran thru the tube unsuspended by bearings. I could easily see cutting the ends offa stock propeller shaft and turning up a couple of sleeves to mate up to say 3” OD .065” wall drive shaft tubing and welding it up. Now you would have a torque tube to couple the motor to trans axle and a bearing less drive shaft running thru it. I kind of think that would be a neat way to drive the transaxle. I think it may be lighter than the stock drive shaft. Feedback, or thoughts.

The larger diameter driveshaft would then act as a flywheel making shifting more difficult. Plus the clutch and short clutch shaft would all need to be supported. Probably simpler to use all the Corvette stuff

Yeah I did not take into account for the short shaft not being supported. Ok Bad idea.
