OB AC condenser dryer fitting replacement - upated -buying new condensor
Doing AC rework for my 79 and pulled the condensor last night. The bottom tube fitting is frozen to the dryer. I was able to get the dryer threaded fitting off the threaded male condenser tube but the dryer tube fitting is coroded into the condenser fitting. I am concerend that the tube will break trying to break the two apart. The inlet tube and fitting at the top has already broke off at the condenser when I was trying to get the AC hose off.
Threads on the condenser are beat up as well. Has anyone had to replace that lower condenser fitting? Any source for those fittings top and bottom? I still need to pressure test the condenser to ensure it is even sound. Beginning to think I would be better off just replacing with a more modern solution.

Okay,
the ac shop that is going to build my new lines says the condenser can't be repaired.
My options were a salvage condenser out of a local 928 I looked at last weekend or a new Silla that is supposedly "exact fit" for $150 delivered. I am getting the Silla. I will report how exact fit it really is!

post some pics. i will be doing this project plus a compressor within the next week. i was luck that the local junk yard had an 81 (like mine) with a near perfect condenser. the one on the car now has a fair amount of bent fins. the junk yard find did not.

Jim, I think that is an excellent idea, considering how A/C's are one of the achilles areas of the 928, so buying a used one would probably just add more frustration than fix...
