I concur with your experience.
Ever since I got mine last year I get nods of approvals, thumbs up. Guy in a brand new Corvette pulls up along side me and yells, "Sweet 928". Even teenagers have started asking me about the car. Anytime I take the car in for anything anywhere, the mechanics crowd around.
Valet parking one time, the young valet mistook it for a Nissan, When I pointed out the Porsche crest, with wide-eyed amazement he said (imagine Keanu Reeves a la Bill & Ted...), "Dude, I did not know they made these THAT LONG AGO!"
No, he did not get a tip!
Enjoy the attention!

You guys must live in another world, I guess everybody is friendlier out west, nobody cares about nothin in the east! And I did live in AZ for one year so I know what it's like out there, friendly people, could never get used to it!

I think people here appreciate my 924 and 928 because it is something fresh to their eyes. You see the same vehicles drive around here all the time, and Mustangs are like a general grand prix that you see everywhere.
