OG, I do like the 997, but was not a huge fan of the 996, seemed a bit boring or something to me. I LOVE my 928's though! As noted they are a timeless design!
Got all kinds of thumbs up and people walking out of their way to look at the Grand Prix White '94 GTS today! It is well loved by all who gaze upon it!

Agreed, I had a 996 and frankly Porsche sharing the headlights with the boxster was a stupid cost cutting move and gotta say the quality of the interior materials was not good

The 928 design is timeless and there's no doubt interest is increasing.
I also think the economy is improving and many people are more accepting of sports/luxury etc cars. Driving around in the Spyder during the weekend I was seeing a ton of positive feedback, thumbs up and people wanting to ask questions.

I've said this once before on the forum here but it was quite awhile ago.
An older woman stopped me and asked 'how the heck can you drive that thing at night with the lights pointing up at the sky'.
-stuck me as permanently funny.

I get a great smile whenever mine starts and I roll out... Very satisfying, especially knowing I rebuilt the motor and restified a significant portion of the rest of the car.

I had to stop for a school bus yesterday, full of middle school aged students.....got several "hey, I really like your car" and or "neat car" from those still on the bus. One that got off stopped and asked "how fast will it go?" and "I want one of these when I can drive"......
One other note, my last 928 was white, this one is very red..... I get about 4x the number of people asking questions or commenting on the red car as I did on the white car. "Arrest me red" just seems to attract far more notice than white...YMMV....

I got a "is that a Ferrari" from a middle aged guy at Applebees last fall. Had a few people give me thumbs up. Couple doctors in town used to own them and they want to talk about how much they loved them whenever we are out at the country club.

Jim,
Same experience here. My '94 GTS in Grand Prix White is nothing short of stunning...one of the finest 928's in the country (thankfully I have never had to compete against Chuck in a concours event or I'd really be stretching to say that! ;-) but EURO85 (even with big scratch on hood and slightly off colored front bumper cover) gets at least 4X the attention! All good too...even from the cops that pull me over in it...damn near every time I drive it!
Today I was in '92 GTS and got a thumbs up from a guy and then a little later I had the window down and was about to turn in to the shop that works on my car (but there was traffic right out front so I was sitting in line) and a guy in an old Camry slowly rolls past me with his window down and says, "really nice! Really clean!"
Ah, I LOVE these cars!

Now really Greg, do you think so? I think that the underlying threat of the retribution that would occur from f@#king up one of MY cars would put that thought so far removed from the mind of anyone closely associated with me as to not be even a remote possibility. But yeah, I would've gotten pissed too.
I saw the stepfather, but never any sign of the stepson with the 9 iron. Maybe he didn't see another birthday.
Heck Tony, ANYBODY could have sold tickets to the way that MOST folk on this forum would have responded to what the fine young lad did to this car.
EXACTLY
Trip - what Dr. Bob said about the windshield. I did not replace it in kind. I went with a standard Securit windshield.
