At least other P car owners musts like them... Went to Best Buy on Saturday, parked waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out on the parking lot, away from all the other cars. Come back out and look what is parked next to mine... GT3 owner must track it from looking at the tires or has put off for too long getting them replaced... Almost slicks..

Also a pic after wax on saturday... :0

[QUOTE=pcar928fan;8479103]I think it depends on how nice the car looks to be from about 5' to 10'. If your car looks even just good at those distances you will get lots of compliments on the road. If your car looks good from 3' you will get them as folks walk by... I am fortunate that all my cars are at or near Concours level now and so I hear "nice car" A LOT! QUOTE]

James, I got one of the nicest comments ever was from a local as he walked up to the Stepson in one of it's earliest reanimation runs. It still had golf club marks on the hood although the glass had been replaced, and the interior was still an absolute mess. As he walked up to the car, he said, "I like your car. Really nice car." Oh, but then he wrote me a ticket for speeding.

Old cars tend to get noticed and if in nice condition many appreciate that it survived. Driving the 65 Ford pickup ,very nice, with the 428 got some comments last week....But for $12,500 it should

I gotta ask "golf club marks". I don't recall this in a thread. Please do tell.

Ahh, I had this happen evening Saturday and All day sunday (gorgeous day Sunday it was.) I was on a date Saturday with a friend I haven't seen in 5 years, and we left a little dance club, I had a crowd around Dunkel as we walked up. A few of the fellas were calling it the 'ScarFace car' , of course I had to say 'ya, it came with a lady tiger ' (my date was grinning ear to ear). Soon as we get in the car she is like 'Wow, my brother has a Boxer and no one ever says 'nice car''. I told her 'Boxers haven't made classic status yet' .. Its a great feeling to have so much appreciation expressed for your car, almost like its 'a holy relic' ..

I had to give the car a little extra love (wax) sunday morning, and driving around running errands and giving my friend the 'DC tour', it seemed everywhere we went there was the "Ohh, a 928, " or "ohh, nice Porsche' ..

This makes me smile, really glad i could manage to find a 1987 S4 5 speed. Everyone always knocks my 928 at school, pisses me off, saying it's so slow and bla bla bla. I just say i'd rather have a 928 than some ricer piece of sh*t.

Rob, it was INDEED a Pacer X! Not a Gremlin for sure...my family had several of each but we never had a Pacer Wagon so when he pulled around and I saw the rear quarter windows I was surprised they were not the curved ones.

Like us, this guy has his car for what it is - not what it stands for. A true car guy. Guys like him are the P-Car owners who appreciate our cars.
The owners of Porsches & other high end exotics who have their cars solely for what they stand for could care less about our cars. Seems like there are more of those characters behind the wheels of really nice Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, AM's - around here at least.

I'm always happy when I see a Carrera 4S Cabriolet driving along Route 80 in New Jersey in a snowstorm. Car has 4 Wheel Drive-use it!

I had to run to the store real quick two nights a go for the wife. I opened up the garage and there were three kids walking by(13 14 years old?). I started it up and they all looked over. Flipped up the lights and started pulling out and they all stopped. One kid said whoa, and another theats a cool car. They all stared as I pulled out and drove off.

The last few weeks 5 of 6 fellow Porsche owners, 2 Caymans, 2 Boxsters and a 911 have waved, flashed lights, given thumbs up with big grins, etc. , and also had a nice long conversation with the owner of a fairly new Carrera (I think I recollect he has had a dozen or so Porsches) in the parking lot of the local grocery about how highly he thought of the 928. I do think we are pretty well appreciated, at least around here.

My S4 is not that nice, but its a lot nicer than my previous car. A rusted bit up 66 VW beetle. I used to get a minimum of 5 to 6 compliments a day, whether I was driving or stopped at a gas station. It had holes on the side from rust, due to it seating on a field for 12 years before I bought it. The only thing I did for it was build a new engine with only headers for an exhaust. The car was so loud that my friends knew I was coming from blocks away. Some even said it sounds like a low flying air plain. The 928 doesn't get much attention when I'm driving, which I think is partially due to it being so quiet. It has all stock exhaust system.

Picking up cigars the other night I had 4-different individuals swarm the car. All kinds of comments including if you ever want to sell this car "right".

Less than a week after I bought mine, I was washing it in the driveway and a guy stopped and asked if it was for sale.
