Default VIN / Option Code Reference

Hi all,

I'm looking at a car with some unusual interior options, the seller believes they are original custom orders from the factory but I'm not so sure... I seem to recall that there's a resource where you can plug the VIN of a 928 in and access a database of production option codes that were attached to the vehicle?

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks

Joel

I think PET lets you do this, if you have the codes from the sticker you can pull them up here:

Take a look under the carpet in the rear hatch over the fuel tank, should be an option sticker.

Unless you like the options, factory or otherwise, any increase in value was to the original owner.

The codes are not showing what looks to me like a full leather interior treatment in what i'd describe as a "saddle" color... I mean every inch of the inside, other than carpet and black areas of the console. As its an '88, this seems unusual.

Looks for all the world like factory quality and design, but have not seen an interior like it before. Also, there's an odd (not too attractive) matching storage box beneath the armrest that raised it up a few inches, probably for cassette tape storage. There's no pic with a URL so can't attach one, but if anyone is familiar with option(s) as described would be interested, thanks...
