Headlight trouble
A week ago I installed two new headlights and all worked as it should have, today I tried to turn on the headlights but nothing happened, headlights will not go up, fog lights work. I know which relay to pull and check but can't find help in the manual for troubleshooting the relay, fuse 19 is good and proper voltage. I pulled the switch but can't find a troubleshooting guide for the switch either. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. toofer

Seldom is a switch issue most likely a relay or dead motor. Try turning the **** under the boot on the headlight motor that will move the internal contacts a bit and it MIGHT start working. If you mess with the motor make sure the arms have the E clips in place because many radiators have been puntured by a loose arm ! Sometimes just moving the motor in the slotted holes will be enough to get it happy. I used to sell a lot of headlight motors.

James, Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. I will give manually moving the motor a try, it makes as much sense as everything else I've tried. I must admit though I was hoping to get more then 1 reply to my post on a weekend. Maybe I will have to go some where else for help with this problem if your idea isn't it. Once again, thanks for your help.

My headlights started giving me trouble lately. First they wouldn't go up, but often would if I just turned the motor **** a bit. Now they have to be raised manually entirely. They go down just fine, though.
Is there anything internally to the motor that can be cleaned and/or adjusted?
Thanks,
Paul

There is a copper disk in the gearbox that acts as a complex switch. Sounds as if that might be the problem. Check the wipers and the disk for wear and crud. It has to be reassembled exactly the way it came apart!
Keep the fingers out of pinch points, and make sure that the E-clips are in place on the linkage.
