Congrats buddy, have you already looked at what is available for boost?

They make a killer supercharger for those things.

I like those, but the only 996 I would bother with would be a Turbo. Have driven several Tip 996's (and TT's) and they are great, but I certainly wouldn't trade ANY of my 928's for one! Accept a 996TT or newer (ie. 997 n/a or TT). Some day I will have a 996/997TT in the garage next to all the 928's!

Darien, that one looks like a GREAT car... care to share on miles, condition, cost? I am interested since I don't normally keep up with the 911 market (other than recently seeing a VERY NICE 53k miles 996TT change hands for $35k!!! The shop that works on my cars was doing a little bit of work on it and I told them I wouldn't sell EITHER of my GTS's for $35k and was stunned a 996TT as nice as this one could be had for such a reasonable price!)

James,
I would've loved to get a 996TT, but out of my price range. Without a doubt, they are very reasonable for the amount of car you get. Let's just say that I got a great deal on this one.

She just turned 64K and seems to be un-molested and in great condition. The PO installed those wheels and the more I learned about them, they will stay on the car. It's got the 6 speed tranny which will be fun...I plan on driving it daily.

Good job Darien, and yes, $35k is still a lot of money for a used car, but in terms of bang for buck, it hardly could get any better than a 996TT! A few tweeks on it and you are at 500HP easy...talk about wicked fast! OMG! Drove a totally stock one for about 800 miles and it was WICKED FAST (Just ask Jon B! He rode with me a few times!)

Very nice car.
Congradulations.
If I could have 2 Porsche, it would be a 996 for sure. Love them too.
Is it a S, 4S?

Great buy - does it have side or rear grass discharge like its air cooled brethren?

The water cooled 911s are not holding resale value partly due to very large numbers of lease returns flooding the market. The residual values got pumped up far too high in the quest for more business (lower monthly payments) and most are opting NOT to buy "their" car. Which puts downward pressure on prices and that snowballs as more people decide that the buy out is too high. The similarity and high number of shared parts with the Boxster (much from the door forward) also has made the "911" more average looking/less special but far more profitable. But does mean you can get a lot of car for not a lot of money. The intermediate shaft bearing isues of course have not helped either.

Your mouth to God's ear! I'll be looking for a C4 in a couple years...
