Blue Max II
Jadz (Jim) found this one. Looks good from the pictures, not sure about the dash since it's covered. Aside from the seats, looks alot like mine (the original Bleumax)

No Pascha so nowhere near as good as Blue Max. It says interior restored, but I can't tell from the photos if that means new seat inserts that don't look original, or if this car had the striped velour, or what.
If there were another Blue Max, I would be seriously interested.

Price-wise, it seems steep... but consider this (Ed and I talked about this):
When was the last time you saw a really well-kept, original, early '78 (or '79 for that matter) on the market?
I told Ed the last time I saw one was when he bought Bluemax. Can't remember exactly when Chuck sold Kermit though, but that car is a on another planet!
I've seen one that was in similar condition, though not as nice, a couple years ago. It was a red '78 5sp w/Pasha... but had a well-done respray (so not orignal paint like Bluemax). Price was around $8K.
These early, original examples are getting harder and harder to find. Esp. ones with all the right stuff. Price are only going to go up for these.
Looks what's happened the bastard step-child 914. It's now part of the "family" and prices on the way up for the early ones and Porsche sixes. And we're only talking about 8 years difference in age when compared to the 928 OB's.
You've been warned.

Agreed Jim. Good examples of these early models will appreciate, as will some of the other specials, like the 89 gt, etc. The car in this ad could be a good one as a resto base back to original condition, if the mechanicals check out. it is hard to tell much from the pictures, of course.
