Hey Guys,
I searched, but no luck..
What is the trick to getting the clips that lock the ring gear bolts in place on the Differential?
I swear i can put the gearbox back in the car faster than i can get all of these back on the bolts. they get all mangled trying to get them on correctly.
I tried flattening them out, but nothing I do seems to make it easier.![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
Should I just buy new ones at the dealer, if so what do i ask for ? ?
Thanks,
B~

They're part 928 332 285 00 "tab washer" in PET.
I didn't have that much trouble, although it did take a while until I was satisfied they were all tight enough.
Start by straightening the pins a little and then flattening them between a couple of pieces of steel with a hammer.
Then I just tapped them into place with a brass hammer, pinched the ends together with some grips, and peened the tabs over the corners of the bolts to help prevent the bolts turning should they overcome their high torque and work loose.
The fact that I reused them may horrify some but its a DIY job and I'm willing to risk catastrophic failure of the transmission. If I were a paid mechanic and it was a customer's car I'd replace the bolts and clips per the WSM.
