Just completed a manifold refresh with new flappy and WOT switches. I was about to reinstall the manifold and noticed a difference between the two gaskets (from Roger). I've done this job 3 times and never noticed this little hump (2nd picture) before and just wanted to ensure it doesn't cause a leak if I put it on the wrong way.

Nothing in that area to leak in/out of. You are good to go.

About a year ago we sent a lot back as the metal insert inside the gasket was showing way to much in areas where it should not.
I bought both VR and Porsche and compared them and they were identical even down to the number of the tool form in the surface.
They certainly improved the quality and the issue went away.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

I've never seen that pimple on an intake gasket before. Though assuming it's all rubber, you should be good to go. Like Sean wrote: there's nothing in that area that would leak.

This is my 3rd manifold job and had never seen that dimple so I thought I'd better ask. Better to be dead sure that **** sure (or is it the other way around?).
Thanks Dave
