new cams = rocket ship
Currently on the West coast for biz meets and took sometime to revisit w/Colin and his modified 928.
The car has Colins new cams fitted with a nice suspension set up and 18 rims/tyres and PBR pads in stock calipers.
The car pulls like a frieght train, stops like hitting a barn door and is flat through braking and cornering. For those sitting on the fence re. these cams I wouldn't hesitate.
thx Colin for the ride(s), view of your shop, home and 928 related parts
Sure if you need details Colin will chime in.

James has gotten a ride in this car too. I remember him trying to reach for something to hang on to!
NoVector,
These are new billet cams. 230 duration @.050" .437" lift, and the exhaust is basically the same with just a tad less duration.
Iwanna928,
I need to get back to the dyno, but lack of time, and some tuning has been holding me up.
Imre,
I have a home made X pipe (vibrant X), and RMB. Both were on before the cams, and it put down 303rwhp, and around 320ft lbs.
I did get onto the dyno once, but I had the cams advanced (for testing), and also the flappy actuator failed between this. Since then I set the cams to zero (hot engine), and I removed the flappy butterfly. She has a lot more go.
I would reckon I am between 340-350 rhwp now, and around 305 ft lbs.
Still some tuning to do (isn't there always!), but she pulls strong.
While tuning, it becomes very apparent that the intake is holding me back (next project). I also notice a little more knocking on 2/6 than the others and I believe that this is due to the manifold design and those two getting slightly better airflow, meaning they are leaner over the others. With the new intake this will be able to be proven, or disproven.
Other than that the engine is bone stock with almost 230k Miles on it.
Shocks are Koni, springs are 1000# front, 600# rear.

It was great to meet up with Malcolm again. It is too bad he has a cold right now, or I am sure he would have been much more chatty.
Actually maybe Malcolm could give his low speed drivability assessment, as well as available power at typical 60mph passing scenerio.

At deaths door it seems today
The rides I had in the car spanned the whole spectrum of operation from idling to passing to gettin 'er sideways. The engine is remarkably tracktable in all conditions with a smooth increase of hp throughout the power band. At no time did I think it was lumpy, cammy or distictive power band changes.
BTW.......anyone finding strips of Goodyear on the Eastern Vancouver region please return to Colin

Neil,
I have sent you numerous emails trying to get in touch with you, but have gotten no replies. Please shoot me a pm, or an email with your phone number.
This is with Stage II cams. The car is using the stock LH/EZK. I have been using the Sharktuner to tune the car. Though the stock map should be OK to run it. But it will be rich as heck in the upper RPMS.
And lucky for me, these tires dont seem to leave strips anywhere
I do hope that you start to get better soon Malcolm!
