My mechanic said the bellhousing (front transmission cover) from the 84 doesn't fit the 87, understandably since it is 1 inch larger.
The transmission I bought was supposed to have one on it, and it doesn't. So does anyone have this housing for an 87+ transmission (that will fit an 87), they want to sell?
Please contact me if you do, I can't seem to find one and need one apparently.
Yes the torque converter came with the transmission they just didn't sent the forward cover for the transmission. I have been told it is 2 pieces, but I have seen one that is one piece.
Are there two end plates on the transmission? I am needing the one the torque tube goes through going to the engine.
There is the bellhousing which hold two bearings and the triangular drive flange which bolts to the converter and sticks out to clamp to the driveshaft since the 87 converter is larger I think it is bigger than that of your 84. It might be a good idea to change those two bearings because they often fail and you need to R and R the transmission to change them.
I was told the torque converter was held on by a coat hanger (I assume for shipping), and didn't have the cover for it. I don't really know how it looks because it is at the shop and I haven't been by there yet.
Yes the coat hanger is not Original Equipment....be sure that the converter is fully seated into the trans or it will not work right. It has a couple tabs which must engage or it can slip, it can feel like it is engaged but still need to drop in slightly more.
If any of you guys need anything from an honest vendor get in touch with Oklahoma Foreign. They deal in exotic salvage vehicles.
Oklahoma Foreign 800-462-2446 or 405-799-0644.
They are honoring the sale and sending me the Housing that was not sent. A lot of companies would not have been as honest. I am here to say they are worth working with.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I think you should/could clarify your other posts dissing 928 Int'l and this transmission. You seemed to say you bought from them. Admist the confusion in both these threads, although you promote OK Foreign, it seems to me from this thread, they did not include two very important pieces of the puzzle; if they didn't inform you in advance, boo on them. Making good on those pieces brings them up to "honorable" not above. I guess I would buy from them, but not my first choice after all this.
