Default What's Under the Wiper Cowling?

I finally located the source of a squeak that I thought was coming from under the dash on the right had side. The source is actually outside the car. When I give a sharp push on the cowling in the area between the windshield and the right fender, I get the squeak from directly underneath. It looks like the cowling strip can be removed by taking the wipers off and 2 bolts under the rear corners of the hood. Does anyone have any idea of what's directly underneath that would squeak when going over bumps?

There are two screws hidden under the edge of the windshield side moldings. WSM instructs the use of a soft (non-paint-damaging) scraper to pop the molding loose at the bottom. Once it's removed, you'll have access to the screws for the cowling panel. Unless you need to replace the wiper motor or disassemble foor wiper gearbox access, it may be better to work from under the hood to find your annoyance.
