Have just been digging under the console making new side covers, and while tidying up some of the wiring runs, I noticed an item not doing anything. Its exactly like a ? in shape, except its upside down, on lh side of console (RHD car though), maybe 6-8" back from firewall, with nothing connected attached or supported on it. Maybe 3/4" wide flat metal strip, blued look, 3-4" long.
Anybody know what should be there please?

It is supposed to be there to support the wiring harness, holding the harness off the TT tunnel.

 

Thanks. It seems a long way away from the nearest piece of harness to do that readily. After all these years I dont think I want to disturb the wiring that much. Will revisit and see how far it really is from wires.
