coolant warning
The coolant warning illuminated this afternoon after the master caution light came on. Coolant level is fine, car was not overheated, seemed like reasonable pressure in tank.
Shouldn't the warning go away off if I play with (short) the level sensor leads?
Thanks,
John

no the warning will not go away,
you need a new sensor,
there is a resistor in the sensor so just putting the wires together will not send the right signal to the warning control unit

Thank you Mr. Merlin - I've read your repair sequence/parts list to another list memb. in 2008, thanks for that too of course.
jthwan22: I see prices on the AutoAtlanta website for the sensor, haven't yet tried Roger or 928Intl.

take one apart and see,
then order a new part.
It has been in my experience that fitting used sensors is a good exercise in how the RnR the coolant bottle as usually the new used sensor is also bad
