Keep the pictures coming. Question - how is an 86 a 4.7 engine? Is it a euro spec?

I'm in the UK, so yes, it's a Euro spec motor, known as S2 in the UK. 10.4:1 compression, 310bhp in standard form with the most aggressive cams that you could get on a 16v.

It's a great engine, I had it dynoed at 260rwhp with the restrictive old 79 exhaust but have since had a y-pipe and custom 3" system fitted, along with 86.5 manifolds. I need to go back to the rolling road but first things first, the paint shop!

Nice one Joel, must be great to see the work in progress following a lot of thought and deliberation. Looking forward to seeing the finished article in the flesh later in the year.

That's an extremely elegant gray. I like it.

Too bad it's got to be covered up with some shiny color. ;-)

Here is the latest - 2 pics showing car ready to be painted and after paint (in wrong order). My body guy is painting the bumpers and all the other bits right now.

They are aiming to get it all finished by Saturday I am hoping to pick it up by Monday. It looks a lot closer to silver grey than Hellblau in these pics but hopefully that is just the poor camera phone pics.

The body show I am using is Dunmow Coachworks in Essex / Cambs just outside London. I have been really impressed with their thoroughness, they have even removed the glass from the rear tailgate to root out corrosion there.

The only bummer about the whole job is that I have had to lose the original paint colour sticker on the door jamb, but I am hoping that my wife can produce a really nice reproduction along the lines of the Car of the Year sticker which she did.

Cheers,

Joel
