I have a 1983 in Metallic slate blue exterior w/blue and champagne interior. The original interior is looking a bit dated and tired. I think its time for a change. I dont care for the blue interior and would like to change it. Any suggestions on what color combo would look good with this exterior. I dont want anything garish. Looking for some colors that are warm. I`m thinking along the lines of a cork color, but not sure.
Any suggestions?

cork would be beautiful with those blues, or a tan.

Kev, I absolutely love blue interiors, especially with light-med blue exteriors. I wish my GTS had blue interior.

Black goes with anything, get rid of that horrid steering wheel and dash cover.
The most important thing you can do is talk to Paul C if you want custom, extreme quality work.

I have trouble seeing what's wrong with the dark blue on a medium blue car. It seems to be the perfect combination. In fact, if I could have another 928, an 83/84 Auto in slate blue without side moldings and all dark blue stock interior would be near the top of my list... Let's add phone dials, just for the fun of it - with spacers in the back, please! ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Having said that, you obviously have your reasons for desiring a change, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
One question is how far you want to take this. Obviously, you now have a full leather interior - would you want to go full leather on your changed interior as well? Would you want to replace the carpet? I'm afraid that this project could quickly exceed the current value of your car.
I have a great affection for single-color leather/vinyl in our interiors.
If you want an easy change, you could go with black. I'm not convinced that's a great idea in your climate, though.
Another change would be to go all tan - similar to the Tom Selleck car. This would work great with your exterior color as well.
Or you could go grey - not the greygreen that was available for 86-88 models, but the silver grey (from 87 on), which would combine nicely with remnants of your blue, or with black pieces from a donor car.
Hope this helps!

I currently have an all cork interior that needs to be re-done. I am sticking with the cork seats and multicolor trim on the redo but really like the look of the darker (blue) carpet matched with the tan and cork interiors. Think the old cork carpet is going blue when I replace it!!

Nicole:
I agree about a full color change being very expensive. I`m already a member of the " I have 20K into a 4K car" club. I may go with a color that combines with the existing carpet like the silver grey or that tan....or say screw it , send it all to Texas with a note to "make it look good. Surprise Me !!"
Hey Greg
lol I agree. but that horrid dash cover looks better than the horrid cracked/ shrunk leather dash below it. I have the original steering wheel but the stitching has rotted and it needs a recover.
No matter which way I go, Paul C will be involved. I have already been pricing things out.
