Default enclosed car transport options??

So, besides Reliable and Intercity, who else would be good options for transporting my 928? California back to Texas.

Thanks

My car was delivered by Intercity. The car arrived undamaged. A customer service issue was handled to my satisfaction by the owner of Intercity.

I used FedEx (formerly Passport Transport - Acquired by FedEx in 2000) to ship from Southwest Florida up to NJ - about 1250 miles. Transport was only three days and ran about $1250. I would not hesitate for a moment to use them again if I needed to transport a car. For me they were very professional, and car was returned to me exactly as given to them. I got the top rear spot, right above a perfectly restored Model T.

Note that at the time, they were charging an additional $500 for specific pick up dates. Without specific dates they had a window of something like 5-7 days for pick up.

Hope this helps,
Dave

Just spoke with Intercity again. They said maybe next week. No trucks on West Coast yet. I first scheduled with them almost 2 weeks ago.
I may give Fedex a call too.

Thanks Guys

Have a look in search. Wish I could recall who, but someone about 9-12 months ago posted about a site where transporters can bid on a transport job you post - poster said FedEx was a bidder...might save you a few bucks over their normal quotes if you decide you are comfortable with them.

When did that happen? I could not find any news on FedEx divesting Passport. Curious since I work in M&A - always interesting to see why a company goes back to the original owners...often its at a discount to purchase price , but there are other reasons too.

When you Google fedex auto transport, you get a fedex page with info and a phone number. That number is actually Passport. They said they bought it back last year.
Nice guys but also the most expensive.
finally! 's contact was cheap as it was the "good guy" deal but I have never heard of them.
Still researching.

Call Bill Demoise at Demoise Trucking. They are a family owned excellent car transport provider. I have used them 5 times. Each time their prices were in line with the competition, but their service, sincerity, integrity and followup far exceeds any other carriers I have used (Intercity for example). I have always found Fedex to be cost prohibitive.

Demoise brought EURO85 to me from SoCal and Passport/FedEx brought BLUE82 to me 2.5 years ago from Seattle. Both did a fine job!

We had excellent service from Pilot Transport, shipping our GTS from NC to WA. I would absolutely use them again.
They gave us a specific date, picked it up when they said, and delivered it two days ahead of schedule, very professional and friendly too.

Pictures here and here
