Well, it must have been changed. Shorter throw is usu desirable. Now you have another question to answer about this car. Why would any one do this to a GT?

Some "GTs" started out as S4s and got converted to a manual transmission in an effort to capture the value difference. Not saying that's the case here, but Steve stated it very well ... if that's not a '91 GT shifter then why would it be there?

A VIN check would settle the question ...

I had to look at the passenger side picture. It's a GT. I had that same impression from the rear shot.

And the pics are seriously making me consider whether it's time to put more tire under the rear of my GT...

It cant be a S4..... From my knowledge no S4's were made in 91 with a Manual trans.

Dont worry guys, I have a 89' GT shifter linkage to put in the car to put it back if its not right.

My guess is the guy had really short arms lol.

Very small number of manual S4s were made in 91, very rare. But, what they are saying above is that some people converted their 90-91 S4 automatic to manual gear box, and knowing that some people reffer to 928 S4s simply as GT, you really need to check the VIN number.

I have several times...... Its a GT, As you can see from the link above.
