Were you hit head on with your 928? because I'm referring to the 928 air bags. Air bags need to be checked and possibly replaced every 10 years, there is no guaranty that the air bags on a 20 year old 928 or any 20 year old car will work. Also the air bag designs of back then are a lot more different than today's air bags, they were a lot bigger and could kill a smaller person seated closer to the steering wheel in the even of an accident. Do a search on air bags, it has been discussed before. I'm all for air bags but when it comes to an old car like a 928, they may very well be of no use....

No I purchased the car with some front end & rear end damage....
Considering fixing it for myself, at this point most likely will. I just want to know what a car like this is worth so I can see if I can get it repaired at a fair price for myself and not dig myself a hole.
Thats why I am looking for PO's also.

A small percentage of owners are here. Very small. Regardless, someone in your area who knows sharks needs to look at to give you a Post Purchase inspection. A PRE purchase runs $150 to 200. Where would you get it serviced if it needed anything? You might want to look there, but you are throwing yourself on their good reputation, if you don't trust them, but again, it should be someone with knowledge of the shark. AND you are looking for a body shop??? Hope you aren't upside down on this already.
$20K is for a reasonably maintained GT. Good luck.

I bought this car From a Insurance company so there is no actual PO involved, Hence the other thread.
I dont have any pics of the car yet because I have not yet recieved it.
Thank you for your input guys.

Purchasing from an insurance company usually means salvage title. So, now you are talking about a high mileage GT with a salvage title. I think you would have trouble getting more that $10-$12K for the car if it is in decent condition. It won't be easy to sell. Documenting the damage and repair would probably help if there is no frame damage and the repairs are done well.

$20K for a well maintained '91 GT with less than 100K miles would be a fair to aggressive price. Your car has significantly higher mileage.
But bringing in the issue that this car has been hit (hopefully cosmetic damage requiring only new skins front and rear) and painting... That makes this a challenging situation. It's a potential blemish that could be hard to overcome and get you into that price range again.

I bought the car for my self and yes its going to be salvage (doesent bother me).
I Agree with the $10-$12K range for a salvage 91' GT
If I like it enough it might replace the 993........ Or maybe keep both??? lol

Yes it is for me and not to be flipped, and I will repair it as it is for me and im one picky Perfectionist. I have enough work not to be messing with flipping cars.
