Default Shift boots

Ok hopefully this is not a question others have posted. Searched a bit... but I cant ever seem to find much when I do that.

So I take the heat if this has been asked before.

Question is. Does the automatic shifter area have the approx same shape as the manual shift boot leather cover. In other words could I adapt a used shift boot... with appropriate plastic lower frame... onto an auto car.

I know 928 motor sports sells one but they are out of stock. I have one on request but I am still interested in trying this.

Any thoughts other than I am an dope?

Thanks

Eric

it will be a straight over swap yes,

The shift boot attaches to the center console, which is the same for manual and auto cars.
