Default Fan temp sensor testing "Sep Thread"

86 S/C

I am testing the Aux Fan turn on sensor located on the radiator: I have two to play with:

One: 3 Ohms when heated with heat gun goes to 0 Ohms
Two: Inf Ohms when heated with heat gun stays at inf Ohms

One must be bad or maybe both; should I not see Inf ohms until it heats up then 0 Ohms?
Is this voltage dependent or resistive?

Just tested a new one, It's a temperatrure sensitive bi-metal strip which gives it the hysterisis to not keep clicking on on off, but a delay- Infinity when cold, 0 ohms when hot, but you need to get it up to close to boiling, - try in a pot of boiling water!

I just picked up the two stage sensor and found a issue:

I purchased a radiator that did not have an oil cooler and turned it upside down.
with this configuration there is a plastic screw in cap and the temp sensor inlet.

With it reversed the normal brass reinforced sensor location is now on the inlet or top passenger hose, the threads are brass. This only allows the sensor to be screwed into just the plastic with no brass reenforcement.

My question will this be OK does the brass thread provide support or heat transfer. If it does can I move the sensor to the top location or will the temperature readings be off and effect the turn on of the fans?

I guessed I stumped everyone on this one!
