rear hatch not closing enough...
Hi, the rear hatch on my car should close more, I think, i.e. sit lower.
The way it is now, it sits about 10 mm higher than the rear end of the c-pillar, and the gap below the lock is also too big.
Along the roof line it is perfectly aligned, so I just need to get the lock to catch further down, deeper.
How do I adjust it to sit lower when closed?
Also, as a side note, the remote opener does not work. It goes Bzzzzzz when i pull and release the button, but the hatch does not pop open.
Are these two issues related?
love,
mm

There should be two rubber stoppers that adjust on each corner of the hatch. See if those make a difference.
Can you tell us what the condition of the lower hatch receiver is? There should be a plastic liner that is inside it.

Speaking of the lower hatch receiver plastic liner ... does it wear or just disintegrate? Mine is intact but wondering if wear could be a factor in my perpetual hatch squeak.
Oh, and so this is not a complete hijack ... on my car, Sean and I pulled a factory spacer (can't remember exactly, maybe 2 - 3 mm thick?) out from underneath the body-side latching mechanism and that closed the gap up nicely. Even with the lowest settings on the rubber bumpers, my hatch sides were noticeably above the body on both sides, and taking out the spacer made them flush again. Not sure if you're as OCD as I am about the hatch, but perhaps something you could look for ...
