Default 1978 BLK 5 SPD- Project Thread

Now that I have it, here are some more pics.
Working on the rebuild project plan now. First off is inspection of all major components.
Drain/Replace fluids
Inspect and replace fuel system components etc
Prep the engine to fire.
Fire the engine.

Oh My. I hope it was a bargain. You might be able to collaborate with Jadz928 locating parts. I've sent him a whole bunch of '78 part-out links, he could probably fill you in on what's worthwhile.

Charles,
An awesome project for you and your son and she is in good hands.
All original by the look of it and the pasha makes it special in my book.
Nice early car and a bargain price. Most is all doable but the paint needs a complete strat over.
As long as she is painted the original color you will be fine.

There are a number of early 78/79 projects on the go and we can all share knowledge and parts.

Good luck,
Roger

Love your optimism, Roger!

So what does the underside look like?

I see a Nissan in the garage... wtf is that still doing there?

Decided to go a little deeper than just shocks WYAIT.
OP needs pipes.
I'll have to get some jack stands to get it up and then take some shots.
Should be out by next week depending on Work etc..

Thanks Roger. I'll need all the help and Advise I could get. I mainly wanted to get keep this euro from the scrap heap. My feeling on it is that if it takes me 10 years to complete the restoration I'll have a pretty good investment. I don;t think the value can go anywhere but up from here. To date I have 640 dollars including trailer rental , fuel and lunch. Justin also threw in a set of the morehouse CDs. The phone dials and head lights are worth the price of the car.
I feel confident it will be a strong runner and another 928 Euro saved.

I do like the Pascha interior. I remember having a few sets of those seats years ago that I basically had to "give" away because no one wanted them. They went along with all the junk factory stereo's that got taken out. That was the late '80's early '90's. Things are sure different now. Good luck on getting her all done.

Saw you got it in another thread, I'm delighted! When I'm ready for it I hope I find just such a resurrection project. I'll get down to Richmond one of these coming spring days to take a look

Charles,
My daughter is moving ( with my help) from SC to Yorktown in May, with her 84 Euro, I'll maybe borrow it and take a ride up to see how you are doing.
I also need to find a inspection station that knows the 928 and won't throw up and fail it!

More pictures Air compressor looks OK, but didn't turn on. Carpet pads were ok but mats and most of the carpet will have to be replaced very brittle and tears easily. Under the carpet and battery bay looked really good.
