Default does my 86.5 have adjustable ride height in front?

I was just wondering:

At the rear suspension I noticed my car (86.5) has adjustable spring perches in the shock absorber.

However on the front I have not seen them. At least, I cannot recall seeing them.
Should my car have adjustable front ride heigt from the factory?

Cheers

Thank, that is great news.

Situation is as follows:

My car is imported into The Netherlands from the USA. Because my car is a USA car, is has the bumperettes which I do not really like, but OK they are original and they 'belong' to the car.

In The Netherlands, we have several kinds of license plates. The regular ones are the wide format, similar to for example German plates.
This plate obviously does not fit, so the proper alternative would be the so-called 18.2 license plate which looks like a USA size plate:

However, when my car was imported the bloke doing the administrative work decided that a Square plate would also fit. This plate looks ridiculous, see:

So last Friday I went back to the RDW (legal entitiy in NL for these kind of things) to have them take another look at my car and grant me permission to use a nice small 18.2 plate.

Unfortunately I was helped, probably by the evil brother of the same person who did the administrative work when importing my car. He immidiately said 'no, you cannot get a small plate, the square one fits just fine'

When I asked him to show me the regulations, he came up with a load of text where it was stated that I could get a 18.2 plate when the distance from the bottom of the big-square plate would be less than 30cm to the floor.
So he measured this distance on my car and he measured 'exactly 30cm' and argued I could therefor not get a nice small plate......

When I asked him to remeasure when I was sitting in the car, he became almost angry, and said that the measure should be taken with no-one in the car.

So I asked him to remeasure when I filled the car up with petrol and he became even more angry and said '.. this is not the way we work around here... your big plate is just fine....'

My plan is now to lower the car ~1,5 cm and go back to the RDW (probably other office) and ask for the 18.2 plate again.

Hopefully I can get the permit to use the small 18.2 permit, and then readjust the ride-height to the correct height.

Cheers
Michel

The front adjusted ride height is available on all 928 since '84 MY. Normal shocks since October 83 and bilstein sport shocks since February 84.

I am not sure it is the case for US cars, but I am sure it is for ROW cars

Ones you change the ride height you'll have to realign - Take out the spare and lay some led brick in there until you have the required distance -

In Amsterdam they used to say "mieren neukers" I guess it's the same every where when you just happen to get the bad apple.

Good luck met je avontuur.

whaha, Herman, you are right, the RDW guys were truly a bunch of 'mieren neukers' :-)

I want to readjust the ride height anyways and have it realigned, so I will have to fiddle with it anyhow.

But I will for sure fill it up to the max and maybe hide some heavy objects in the car.

I will succeed in beating the bastards of the RDW

I took a picture of the right-front suspension.

Can I just turn the lower spring perch to adjust ride-height? At the rear suspension I can see the threading on the shock, but as you can see in the picture, on the front I do not see any threads.

Quick Reply: does my 86.5 have adjustable ride height in front?
