Mark Anderson in Velocity Magazine
#49
The other day I was phumphering around on eBay and found an '85 German print sales brochure to put in the glovebox with my euro owners manuals and whatnot. It was a local seller, and cheap, and in good condition. And it came with old copy of Velocity magazine, of which I had never heard of before, because I'm still kinda new to the Porsche community, but I digress.
The Velocity issue is from November 2001 and I was thinking I'd flip through it and probably toss it, when low and behold inside the cover is a little teaser article mentioning Mark Anderson and Mark Kibort. No sh/t what a cool coincidence. A short but complimentary blurb about Kibort and a pic of him and one of his car. And then a complimentary Anderson blurb and a two page pic of his car on page 31. Very cool.
Of all the volumes, of a magazine I had never heard of before, and thats the one that comes free with my sales brochure. Heck ya. Off to Circle_K to buy a lotto ticket. And the Velocity mag will now stay with me instead of being tossed, maybe I can get the Marks to sign it for me if they'll obliged.
Then I find this thread and find out Mark also raced a 996 cup car?! Wow. So much history for me to learn still

Thanks for the thread and subject revival.
When you visit 928 International, there are a few pics on the walls that hint at Mark A's racing history. Mark mentioned one day the incident at the cup series celebration at the factory, sitting next the CEO. Most of us know him from successfully racing the 928's, no clue that he was the cup car champion in his "spare time".
The latest 928 race car is now in Rob Edwards' stable, waiting patiently for some finishing touches on the new engine. Readers here might remember that its last outing at Willow Creek was a reminder of why we don't go race our stock-engined cars on race tires and suspension.
All great stuff!
