Does the alternator have a temp sensor??
Today I removed the front bumper to install the ducts for the brake cooling (somehow the PO lost them when he got the car resprayed a few years ago...).
With the bumper off I thought it was also a good opportunity to replace the cooling hose for the alternator.
I noticed that there is even a temp-sensor up in the hose. Does anyone know exactly what it's function is??
Tried to search the forum, but could not find a real answer.
Cheers Michel

Thanks Aryan
Do you also know why they have put it there?
Maybe because of airflow generated by the alternator to ensure constant airflow of ambient air ?
cheers

Don't know, but I guess to protect it from the outside influences and to insure the air is moving where it sits. Funny thing, the temperature sensor for the digi dash sticks out of the drivers side mirror. Why wasn't that place used for the climate control?
