I'm in Highland Park, north of downtown. I'm dubious about the porsche experience of my local mechanics. Does anyone know who does a proper 928 4 wheel alignment around here? Thanks a ton!

I know it is a bit of a drive, but Stokes Tire in Santa Monica specializes in Porsche cars. They will also make the necessary adjustments if you plan on tracking or A/X. If you need a ride to the beach while you are here, I will be happy to chauffuer you while you wait for your car .

 

That's quite an offer Michael! I actually work in Venice a few days out of the week, so I may check them out. Whether I use your services or not, I'd love another shark friend in the area.

Today I took it to a place a half a mile from my house that has a Hunter machine and hunter lift. They charged me $100 for toe alignment only, which is good because I think they otherwise had little experience with 928s (just the regular cocky LA mechanic attitude). But now its at least driveable so I'd like to do the right thing and get it to a specialist.

My 1980 5 speed is a project and then some which I have yet to have on the road. Motor is going in this coming weekend. So, with any luck, I hope to have it on the road fairly soon.
