the first picture is the old regulator, it has a blue wire that fits on the alternator, in the midle of the regulator is a connector for the exciter wire,
there is zero ohm between these two , (but as my regulator is at fault i cant be sure that this is normal.

on my new regulator(alternator) there is no connector for the exciter wire,, but it can be made easy at the blue wire (blurry picture below)

the new alternator has a regulator with a blue wire going to the alternator as well , but not a free connetor for the exciter wire (red connector),, can i connect it to the blue wire at the alternator???

This is another example of why it's best to use our vendors.

i try contact 928specialist for more than a week, i cant buy from the website , payment gets an error.
email does not work either, they dont reply (checked spambox), . the last order took more than a month to get trough foreign customs.
2 weeks ago i ordered some cheap gaskets for the oilfiller, and shipping charges with fedex was 117 dollar, another attempt to buy worked out wrong. emailed them with no responce,
rockauto is fast, only 4 days. i have ordered tons of parts from them , this should be the first wrong part ever,

but that didnt solve my problem,
i am sure it will be possible to connect , but i dont want to make mistakes and burn some wire.
in the lowe picture there are two bolts a longer and a shorter, the shortest is a negative and the longest has no contact between negative or any other , it might be the exciter.
to bad there was no shematic picture in the box..

Well, then they obviously don't need the international business or have other issues. Who knows.

But two others strive to serve it, have a pinpont focus on 928's and customer service to match their brand of business..

Who knows what you have? Beck Arnley is an aftermarket rebrander / rebuilder. Maybe its self-exciting.

Maybe contact Beck Arnley or Rock Auto ( the supplier that sold it to you).
(Oh, no specific customer service for your application??? That's one reason why it was cheap)

I've tried all kinds of channels for parts, BTW. I've settled on the suppliers that match my style and needs.
I buy Chevy stuff from Rock Auto. A few things from Advance Auto if I can really nail-down the manufacturer and part number.
The rest from these 928 focused groups.

A 105A Delco from an Camaro, say 1988, will work also, if you need something and have access to American standard parts over there somewhere.
That would have been the only alternator I might have bought from Rock Auto for a 928.

fixed,Beck Arnley assured me it is the wright part, the exiter was the short terminal, there is a sort of isolatad ring between body and terminal, it also didnt make contact to body.
it took so long to update, i had to wait for a new belt order.
the alternator fits , also the cooling cover at the back, but i had some work on the distance of the pulley. used some spacers on the pulleyshaft.
did a short testrun and car runs great again,
glad i didnt burn up the computer or other parts.
a new alternator at a local shop was 700 dollar,
two local shops didnt want to give me a price on a rebuild of my own alternator , so buying a rebuild at rockauto wasnt a bad idea anyway. rebuilding mine could be more expencive.

Gotcha. Sometimes we forget how easy-access some parts compared to other regions.

Good work.
