Default Hvac lighting question

I found this control head at the junk yard in very good shape, much better then the one i have now. but, unlike the one i have now, it has this extra fiberoptic light... anyone know where it goes?

How many do you have there total? I think there is one for each slider and one for the fan switch.

it has 5 total. 2 for the switches, and looks like 2 for the fan switch.

Do what I did and replace all the decayed fiber optic cable with LEDs...

i replaced the light bulb with and LED in my faded unit in the car now. works great! so with this one, im sure it will be much brighter.

Brad can you expand a bit, pelase. My fibre optics are all gone and so I would love to replace with leds. I could not find a thread for this update (led bulb/wires etc?

basically, you wire in LED's where the fiber optics go, as in stick one in the switches etc...
