Default 1985 928S2 Euro Rear Fog light relay

Hi All,

I have been working on the CE panel tring to refurb it and bring it back into spec, and whilst doing so i discovered why the rear fog lights dont work - no relay in XIII ! so i guess thats the starting point.

The problem is, i have a few spare relays that look like they might fit, but no part numbers so cant check (i downloaded a fuse/relay chart available online but im told the part number shown on there is USA models not Euro. My local Porsche centre sent me a screen shot from PET that sems to show its a standard "53" relay that should be in the slot but that doesnt seem right - i recon from looking at the socket there should be 5/6 pins o the relay i need.
I tried a quick search of this fine forum, but cant seem to identify the right part from that.

Is there anyone out there with a similar car that could have a look and tell me the right relay part number i need? or even a picture of the wiring diagram printed on the relay so i can see if the one i have is indeed right for the job.

I am surprised that the Porsche centre info seems to be out of whack - i can post a copy of the screenshot they sent me if it helps anyone identify the right relay.

thanks all

The OPC is correct, use a 53 relay. USA cars used a different one 928 615 137 01 and Japanese cars yet another version.

So the info on the 928 Specialist website is incorrect for a Euro S2.

Thanks for that, greatly appreciated, i will put a 53 relay in there.
Presumably the rest of the wires i am seeing in the socket then are for the USA/Japan/other models with different features on this circuit

thanks again for the quick reply

Posting in this thread for future reference, as there is no "rear" fog light relay only the one Fog Light relay.

The new relay performed the same as the original relay in the car. When I installed the "53" as I said before, the only issue is the foglights don't shut off when the high beams are on. I don't think most of us are going to take issue with that.
Thank you!!!
Will try it this afternoon, also that is the same part number I found for the stock 85/86.

Note to others: the Fog Light relay is year defendant, pleas read Alan's comments for the correct fix for the issue per MY.

Thanks all,

Dave
