Almost no fuel to injectors suspect fuel distributor
#16
The steel gasket should work either way if the ports, including the decoupler, are lined up correctly. If you removed the center piston in the upper half, you need to make sure the slits were realigned with the injector ports. Since it idles but doesn't rev, you may just need to readjust your A/F mixture.

If you are referring to my link to the 928OC site, let me assure you it by no means should be considered spam. Many Rennlist members are member of the 928OC as well as many members that do not frequent Rennlist. When I listed the link, I had no idea if you were a member or not. Either way, I will remember not to "spam" you in the future.

The "spammed" site you referred to is 928oc.org which is the 928 Owners club and is/will be the ultimate repository for all the member write ups on how to solve problems for your 928. No spam! Still worth the $30.

Kingster: Dennis's response is exactly what I was talking about. Again: Be gentle little grasshopper. They do not call 928's "Sharks" without reason and BTW, this is no Blabla.

Sorry this car tends to get me worked up. I have never had to pay for a discussion forum before and had never heard of that sight so I just assumed when I clicked and couldn't get any info until I paid that it was spam. I didn't have a good feeling about it. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Rebuilt my fuel distributor but still the same. Idles but will not rev unless I pour gas down air meter lid or air intake. Then it revs up as much as I want but smokes. I didn't take out the barrel in the upper half of distributor but did take out the plunger. I am now worried that i spun the barrel some how and maybe my slits are not Lined up. I don't want to take apart my fuel distributor to check but I might have to. Does anyone know how to taker out barrel it didn't seem like it was suppose to come out? The plunger just has to go right side up but can be spun in any direction Is that correct? meaning pointy end down. Thanks again for everyones help. Here is the diagram that I used to rebuild my fuel distributor it was easy to follow. http://www.porsche928forums.com/down...CISRebuild.pdf

When I first got my 928 I could get it started but it would not rev. I had a massive vacuum leak at the brake booster (PO had pulled the master cylinder and I did not know enough to plug the vacuum line till a member helped me out). Once I plugged the line she started and responded to the accelerator. Whats off the engine?

The control pressure regulator often called the warm up regulator is what controls the mixture ALL the time. When it fails the car will just barely run at idle......sound familiar ? To work on CIS you MUST have two fuel pressure gauges and check system pressure and control pressure as well as understand how it works ! I once was told that 50 % of the fuel distributors cores sent in for rebuilding had NOTHING wrong with them. So not a surprise that your "rebuild" fixed nothing. So either check the pressures or buy an rebuilt control pressure regulator......and hope that fixes it.

I hope the WUR fixes your problem, it sounds like the culprit

Does anyone know what the pressures on the wur are suppose to be? I found a test page but it said I had to check it at different idle speeds but my car only has one idle speed about 600 maybe 800 rpm.
