My 88 S4 automatic does not have limited slip. It does have 134K miles on it. It is working perfectly at the moment, but I expect the day will come when it has to be replaced. If I want one with LSD, is it as simple as just installing one with LSD in place of the original transmission?

Well I have owned an 85 944 for over ten years, and I am just not used to S4 power. While it is more than possible to spin wheels in a 944 that is in good order, you have to try. My S4, on the other hand, is harder for me to control at the rear end. In spite of the big 265 Dunlops on the back, she really wants to burn 'em up whenever I give just a little too much gas. I've never even tried wide-open throttle from a standing start. I think there's already enough fog in Fresno in January without adding tire smoke. I'm still getting to know this car, driving like an old man in a parade.
