+16,

No interest in joining MyFace or any of the other ones. I'm waiting for the 'winner' to emerge. This one is probably just another fad like parachute pants and jackets with zippers all over them. Boy am I glad I passed on those.

Dr. Bob, can my future employment be affected if I'm not on there but someone else puts up stuff about me?

We sure seem to be a hip, cutting edge bunch.
A lot of early adapters here, right on the edge of what is new and hot.

Our cars run well for the most part.

When he posted this I went to his FB page and was pretty put out that it looked like they spammed every car forum out there with the same offer. Needless to say, I didn't "Like" this.

Hard to say. The somewhat tongue-in-cheek example used in the news feature had a loan applicant being criticized for all the references to 'shopping' on her FB account. They cited other references to her, including criminal history. She was able to deflect the criminal references part as being to "someone else". I'm not sure in a job BI situation that you'd ever have the opportunity to challenge a reference like that if your application was round-filed at that stage. Most potential employers won't/can't admit that they discriminate against applicants for anything. But they do. It's certainly worth doing your own BI on yourself every once in a while to make sure there are no false negative claims made about you, especially if your work includes high security requirements.

+17 here. And, I've been using PFC brake pads for my track car for the past 8 years, and will for the forseeable future. They are the most economical ones for mid level DE driving I've found. I've used #97 and #93 compounds.

And - Tom, Roger's face was the picture on the Post Office wall, not on a book, as I recall!!

Cheers guys, and good luck to you Don T.

Gary

I actually love facebook. It is a very useful way for me to stay in contact with many friends that I would have otherwise lost due to lack of freetime. I have re-connected with old friends and use it to schedule real life get togethers.
It's actually a pretty amazing site.
That said, I am with Sean on this one. Silly contest, no point in entering.

Any of our suppliers carry these brakes?

This thread has skewed towards a FB-bashing session, and away from the brakes. FB "contest" is a phishing expedition AFAICS, but is the product worth a look? Brakes are on my near horizon. I have MetalMasters now and they are generally fine for the way I drive, but could use a little more bite every once in a while. Maybe a separate thread for that?

If Mike Simard says so I'd say they are worth a very serious look.

I wouldn't call this a phishing scheme, it's a common way to hold contests on FB. Yes I'm on FB, don't use it for anything except checking out pictures posted by various friends / family members around the world. For that single purpose, it's a pretty cool site.
Everything else on FB is rather useless IMO.

Sorry Sean, my post was confusing. I was agreeing with your sentiment about the contest.
I was defending fb to seemingly everyone else here. I think it is a very valuable site and it's where I go when the posts slow down here. The time between Greg Nettles signing off and Hilton getting online.

I have had these on my '84, with a set of slotted rotors from 928 International for the last five or six years, and I love them. I happen to know you can pick up Performance friction brakes at O'Reilly autoparts stores, probably others.

We didnt spam the car forums. We are vendors on all of them. If all of you dont want to participate in offers like this let me know I will never post them up here again. Sorry for the delay in response.

Nonononoon, honestly was not trying to offend. Please keep showing offers to the members. It was just a personal observation when I went to your FB page. I get enough spam so I didn't "like" it.

Sorry if I offended you. Was not my intent.
