What is this???
I am planning out a Haltech conversion for my supercharged automatic 84 US L-Jet.
The Haltech requires a 60 -2 flywheel trigger or 36 -1 crank trigger.
Crank trigger is not doable due to the crank pulley arangment, so I'm going with a automatic flywheel from a 87 or up 928.
So, looking for input on which years have the 60 -2 toothed timing ring.
But the weird thing that I really am puzzled about it the sensor that is already in L-Jet car. And the Strange "tube" that sits on top of the block a couple of inches in front of the sensor that is in the bell housing.
It looks almost like a sensor needs to be there.
Pix attached.
Anybody input is appreciated!

The sensor is a test only sensor used to set the timing IIRC. I have one early '84 with it and had a later (by 1200 cars per serial numbers) '84 that did not have it. It connects to nothing...it has a DIN plug on the end. There are 4 or maybe 5 pins in the back of the flywheel that trigger the sensor as I best remember. I would have to look it up in the PET or service manual to be precise and I am suffering from terminal laziness today....
