Nice!! Mark was one of the previous owners of mine as well, and was kind enough to sell them to me. Bonus of it was, they came with a whole 928.

Thanks again Mark!!

Are the seat back and side panels vinyl instead of leather? I pretty sure the seat backs are vinyl but not so sure about the side panels. Anyone know?

as far as I know..all Porsche Seats should be leather all the way round...but I've seen some variations..most notably Louie's GT..has/had tan leather seats with "carpet" on the back

Thanks Tom! I was wondering since the backs and sides don't seem to be absorbing the rejuvenator oil like the seat face does.

I think that may be because the seat back surface is usually still as new, not worn/porous like the fronts.

The leather Porsche used back in the day where just do dayum thick and lasted a long time! My seats in both my 928s are in good shape still. Look at some of the boxster's and 996's on eBay and you can see they did not hold up as well.

The backs and sides are vinyl, so don't absorb the stuff at all. Eventually it will evaporate.

Yes, they are vinyl. It's such a good grade though it's really hard to tell. The clue is that they don't absorb leather oil.

Denny those are standard comfort seats, and that looks like it needs some Paul Champagne help to me.

Mark SF I folded the seat forward and looked under the seam at the back where the hog staples are and sure enough it is all Leather on mine at least.

Interesting - sounds like they cheapened the seats in later model years.

The sport seats in my '85 came out of an early '87. They are all leather.

The top of the passenger seat frame was damaged, poorly repaired once, and broken again. I cut off and welded the bolster tubes to a donor '86.5 comfort seat frame, and transferred the (4) extra support springs. Those were the only frame differences.
