The thing that connects to the hatch in the rear that most cars are missing or damaged from the sun. They are so rare I cant even find a picture. It covers whatever you may have in the hatch but doesnt seem to do a good job.If you have one I'd like black or tan.

One of the ladies in K's church social group thinks she knows a source for a black nylon knit fabric similar to the original, stretches in one axis (side to side) like the original fabric. She took my battle-worn, somewhat tattered original for use as a pattern. I'll see here again in a few weeks and report back. If the fabric is correct or at least serviceable, we may be able to make a retro-fit replacement fabric package that re-uses your original hard parts.
I have a NOS black shade that's sitting in a storage tube, to go with the car. PO had it and shipped it to me about a year after I bought the car. The original had a tiny tear in it then that's multiplied into half a dozen stress fracture splits. Gotta love a caring PO!

I think Roger has a reproduction cover that looks like the original, and is much cheaper. It's worth a call, I know he has the nets.

Call Tom at 928 International. They often have good used ones available. Otherwise go the repro route with them or with Roger. Much faster than waiting for me, especially on a project over which I have no control. You'd still need to find someone to do the stictwork for you after we ID the fabric.

You really can't go past these:

Paul is a true artiste!
Also, they're more durable and practical than the original...the boxes are great for storing all sorts of things.

Interesting - mine appears to be original, but is black vinyl with a white backing - certainly not stretchy on either axis. Did they vary over the years? I expect there were also custom variants from the factory.
