Default Help! 2 Yellow wires

During the major cleaning I discovered 2 yellow wires unattached
between the power steering canister and the coil, They are in their own
sleeve and very brittle.
Also the engine won't start but I think it's because it's wet
and I need to dry everything or is this related?
Thoughts?

Define, very precisely and verbosely, what you mean by "the engine won't start".

I have tried to get the yellow wire pic posted but not sure if I am doing it correctly
Regardless
I washed the engine and discovered two yellows wire coming up from the front of the car attached to the same bundle as the wires going to the coil.
Now they are hanging loose and the engine will not start, I have cleaned and I think dried everything, taked off the dizzy cap, have not pulled the plugs, there was lots of water everywhere but today is sunny and warm.

first mistake washing the engine,
never wash your engine other problems will occur.
put a volt meter on the wires with the key on see if either one supplies 12V is the fan switch connected to the front of the radiator on the driverside?
Is there a resistor bolted to the fenderwell ahead of the PS reservoir?
Do the wires sup[ply 12 with the parking lamps or headlights on or the left turn signal switched on?

vanster, Please do as Mrmerlin suggests and answer his questions. If I read another thread where someone doesn't follow Mrmerlin's instructions and spends weeks and countless posts just to come back and eventually figure out on their own that Mrmerlin was giving them the right advice, I am likely to become unstable.

Ah ha,
It runs! TA DA!!!! I agree with Merlin regarding washing the engine. At least now I won't have to do it again.
Regarding the yellow wires, my passenger side front marker light is out. Usually in my experience, if the wires are broken off like this it's not hard to find the other ends. Here I cannot find a trace to were they once connected.
Everything else seems to work Ok.

OK............

Now try this , put a volt meter on the wires with the key on see if either one supplies 12V is the fan switch connected to the front of the radiator on the driverside?
Is there a resistor bolted to the fenderwell ahead of the PS reservoir?
