the worn tire has about 6mm of wear, the other tire is new.
because i have not yet sourced a second new tire. i was planning to use up the worn tire in the coming months on my non-lsd rear end. and then use the other tire which i had removed (this one has only about 4mm of wear) to replace the old tire once it's completely done.
i'm not going to be dealing with any icy or snowy roads during the next ten or eleven months... so, anyway,
the goodyear people said, because it's an open differential, mixing a worn tire with a new tire won't cause any damage.....
i'd like to know if he's right or not. what do you all think ? thanks.

just a thought,
the differential spider gears will turning more so than then they normally would, and hi speeds may make the gearset run hotter as well the diff will in effect be in a constant turn.
I would suggest to fit a matching set of tires,
also if you have an ABS equipped car this may make it not function properly, Though the ABS is only 3 channel LF, RF and both rears tied together
