Low idle - shuts off in park or when stopped
I just completed a gas tank replacement. I replaced tank, fuel lines and fuel filter and cleaned out the fuel pump. The fuel strainer in the tank and sending unit were cleaned also. Before doing this, the car had what seemed like a high idle (around 1500). After doing the replacement, it idles around 400rpm (in park or neutral) and wants to shut off. If I keep the idle up and and drive its just fine so I don't think I have a blockage in the fuel system. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my 85. It would stall in slow speed crawls like rush hour traffic or creeping through parking lots.
As far as I could tell, the problem stemmed from false air and vacuum leaks in the system that someone had compensated for by dropping the idle down...........way down! Once I went through the car and repaired all the leaks that I had in both vacuum and false air, the car wouldn't idle at all. So I needed to readjust it back up.......way up!
Once I did that, the car never stalled again or even hinted at it.
Not saying that this is your specific problem but it was mine. I guess it jacked with the idle stabilizer enough that it made the car very prone to stalling at slow speeds.
Good luck

Yea, thats the only other butt that I felt compared to that of the 928!
If your idle isn't low now, I wouldn't raise it anymore. My idle dropped off because the motor stopped sucking false air and I cleaned up all the vacuum woes.
Check your idle where it is now. If its between 700-800RPM, I believe this to be in the ballpark? So that won't be your problem and you will just be putting a horrible bandaid on it.
Cheers
